CIRCUIT BREAKERS
Ajay Circuit breakers are thermally operated overload protector, providing reliable position trip operation on overload and short circuit within the maximum breaking capacity. The trip mechanism is of a latch type with high contact force is maintained until the unit trip. This prevents contact bounce and reduces the risk of contact welding. Its components are produced with flame retardant engineering plastic, which has excellent impact resistance, combined with high stiffness and strength.
The mechanism of the circuit breaker is designed to open the contact in the event of a current flow in excess of the rated current according to the time / current characteristics of the device. A thermo bimetal strip, which has the advantage of being immune to high inrush currents and line transients, is heated by the over current and deflects, thereby releasing the latch mechanism. This mechanism gets open even if the reset button is manually held in closed position. This is known as positive trip mechanism. The contacts open and closes with a positive snap action. The tripped stat is clearly indicated by the extended projection of the “Red” resent button.
Applications : Main applications are protection of single phase motors, Transformers, UPS, Power Strips, Solenoids etc.. against damage due to over current conditions.
